2025 Forester Hybrid

2025 Forester Hybrid

Dear Friends,

I’m proud to present the first of the Subaru brand’s next-generation hybrid products to arrive in showrooms – the 2025 Forester Hybrid! Our all-new advanced hybrid system will offer substantial improvements in fuel economy and drivability above non-hybrid Forester models while retaining the class-leading capability of Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive.

All Forester Hybrid models add:

  • Gasoline-electric hybrid system with short-range full EV mode
  • Up to 40% improvement in city MPG and 25% in combined MPG
  • Digital gauge cluster with Hybrid power flow graphics and three available layouts, including navigation and Apple Maps displays
  • TomTom navigation (if not already equipped)

In response to customer demand, Forester Premium, Sport and Limited Hybrid models will also feature animal-free interiors thanks to the replacement of animal leather products with non-animal alternatives.

Critically, all Forester Hybrid models retain the capability of full-time Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. Unlike other brands’ hybrid models which use part-time all-wheel drive systems or low-powered electric motors to send only limited power to some drive wheels, Forester Hybrid powers all four wheels at all times through direct mechanical drive from the engine and hybrid system. This means only Forester Hybrid can deliver the AWD capability and safety that Subaru owners expect.

Models and Pricing

Forester Premium Hybrid is the entry point of the Forester Hybrid lineup and loaded with value at just $34,995. At that price, it includes all the features of the non-Hybrid version of Forester Premium and adds the hybrid system for greater fuel economy and performance, plus digital gauge cluster, navigation, and an upgrade to 18-inch wheels.

Premium Hybrid also includes Power Rear Gate and Blind-Spot Detection / Rear Cross-Traffic Alert; these popular Premium options are included as standard features on the Hybrid. The step-up from Premium with OP package to a comparably equipped Hybrid is just $1,485!

Forester Sport Hybrid provides a stylish option with 19-inch wheels, Sport Gray StarTex interior, low-profile roof rails and bronze-finish accents. In addition to the hybrid system, digital gauge cluster and navigation, Sport Hybrid adds Harman Kardon audio, Power Rear Gate and Reverse Automatic Braking to the standard features from Forester Sport and comes in at a compelling $37,995, which again adds only $1,485 to a comparable non-Hybrid Sport model.

Forester Limited Hybrid features the most significant interior change in the lineup, as its seating surfaces are updated to animal-free StarTex from the standard animal leather. Digital gauge cluster, navigation, Harman Kardon audio and Reverse Automatic Braking are added to the standard features list, at a price of $39,410; only $1,400 more than a non-Hybrid version of Forester Limited with OP package.

As the top model in the lineup, Forester Touring Hybrid provides the most comprehensive list of features available on any Forester. Four of popular colors – Autumn Green Metallic, Brilliant Bronze Metallic, Magnetite Gray Metallic and River Rock Pearl – also offer an available two-tone paint finish with Crystal Black roof. Touring Hybrid retains real animal leather interior materials for a luxurious feel, and adds the digital gauge cluster to its package of technology, capability and comfort at $41,695. Again, only $1,400 is added for the Hybrid version.

Forester Hybrid models will begin production in February with retailer arrivals beginning in spring. The Destination and Delivery charge is $1,420 for 2025 Forester ($1,570 for retailers in Alaska).

All the best,

Jeff Walters

President and Chief Operating Officer

Press Feedback

“Subaru’s next-gen hybrid powertrain system is shaping up to improve stats in all areas. We’re talking more power, better range, a bigger e-motor and a larger gas tank.” - MotorTrend

“The Forester continues to be the best-riding small SUV, outshining some luxury models. Its supple and absorbent suspension shrugs off all manner of bumps and soaks up potholes with ease. The new Forester is also considerably quieter than the previous model, with the most noticeable difference coming from its more muted engine hum.” - Consumer Reports (2025 Forester)

“It isn’t the softest crossover[...] but it’s comfortable and provides an unusual sense of invincibility, like you could ride over any terrain and survive.” - The Drive (2025 Forester)
